Budget Commission

The Budget Commission consists of the County Auditor, Prosecuting Attorney,
and the County Treasurer. (ORC chapter 5705) The Commission annually
approves distribution of Local Government Funds based on the approved local
formula, review and set tax rates for taxing authorities based on the
budgets of taxing districts (county, municipal, townships, and special
districts), approves and issues Amended Certificates of Estimate Resources.
Should the Commission change a budget, the respective taxing district can
appeal the decision to the Board of Tax Appeals. The Auditor serves as
Secretary of the Budget Commission.

The Budget Commission meeting schedule is as follows for 2022 and the first meeting of 2023. These meetings will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Auditor’s basement office.
